We all know... talking about music is like dancing on architecture. Anyway. On August 22, 2008 Sigur Ros will play in Riga, and recently we've came up to their famous video to the song 'Svefn-g-englar'. You can watch it up on YouTube:

Here is the list of the quotes shown during first minute-and-a-half of the movie:

Nietzche:
Without music, life would be a mistake.

Lawrence Durrell:
Music was invented to confirm music loneliness.

Leo Tolstoy:
Music is the shorthand of emotion.

Victor Hugo:
Music expresses that which cannot be said on which it is impossible to be silent.

Plato:
Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.

Leopold Stokowski:
A painter paints his pictures on canvas. But musicians paint their pictures on silence.

(Originally, there is an addition to this quote which makes the things quite different: "We provide the music, and you provide the silence".)

Thomas Carlyle:
See deep enough, and you see musically; the heart of nature being everywhere music.

Leonard Bernstein:
Music can name the un-nameable and communicate the unknowable.

Henry Miller:
In the end I think of music as saving grace for all humanity.

Thomas Carlyle:
Music is well said to be the speech of angels; in fact, nothing among the utterances allowed to man is felt to be so divine. It brings us near to the Infinite.

We were curious to search the web for more music quotes, and what we found is listed in next posts (most of them are taken from ThinkExist.com quotations bank, Heart Quotes and Quote Garden). I think this topic would describe even better how we are thinking on INQB8R. You'll see what you have to say about music is already said.

Turn on your ambient tune, read slowly and post back what you liked at most.
