First album for I-Massive, a duo gathering Fingoonet and Guitoud, who already released an album on Fresh Poulp Records earlier (Analogic Time). You 'll find in "Fire" the Guitoud's dub touch as well as the jungle/d'n'b science of his friend Fingoonet. A joyful mixture where you can also find a remix of Rafiralfiro's Istanbul Engloutie, who could have appeared on the related album. Listening to "Fire" is obviously the best way to start springtime !!

Tracklist :
01. Natty Junglist 7:09
02. Flat Dimension Remix 4:56
03. Return To Jungle 5:56
04. Istanbul Engloutie Remix 4:49
05. Tonio Dub 4:47
06. Babylon Is Burnin 6:57
07. FingouDub 3:53
08. Zeriod 5:19

Perfect work and sound! It seems somewhere it misses a bit of technical background, like the overall sounding - I mean, it's possible to recognize it is a free release without any serious mastering - and for me it seemed like in some compositions, for example "Flat Dimension Remix", there are some very old-school samples used... anyway, the music itself, melodies, and of course, the "dub" feeling are very strong. I would give it 7/10 rate just because I think the dub movement needs a more fresh breathe, older structures were exhausted long time ago.

Springtime... last few years in Latvia this season either missed overall - summer comes rapidly like brick to head - or becomes more unrecognizable with snow, rain, sun & slush and therefore seems that summer never comes (or maybe it has already passed???). Exactly these both processes can be related and compared, first, with jungle/d'n'b - helping the 'sister-spring' the summer hits the winter without mercy, people hurry to catch the sun and girls, the beer is drinking with speed of light - and, secondly, with dub - step by step but unwillingly green color wins gray, happy people become happier, but sad people - sadder and the bears slowly start to do gymnastics.
With this intro I mean that for our latitudes this music is perfect and especially for springtime. It is sweet like first pussy willow, it has smell of changes towards to something positive, it has yellow color and finally - I like it :) Release is built on mystically optimistic notes - my body is willing to left my ass and to move with dub sounds.

Nowadays jungle/d'n'b field is forgotten for me and IMHO the most remarkable materials are coming from such both grands like Goldie and Adam F. Anyway if someone can recommend fresh and a lil' bit innovative d'n'b - I will listen it with big pleasure. Maybe it is another 'painful' theme - "DNB is dead or not?" - but I will to repeat that it is very nice recording.

Question to I-Massive: does second track "Return To Jungle" contain Lee "Scratch" Perry's voice? Seems similar.

Waiting for the offspring :)
